Collaborating in Cuba

Pedro Sanchez, director, and Cheryl Palm, research director, traveled to Cuba in November to meet with counterparts and discuss possible collaborations. They met with individuals at the Ministry of Agriculture and The Nature Conservancy and visited an Agricultural Production Cooperative as well as a farm. They met with United States Ambassador Jeffrey DeLaurentis and attended a reception hosted by the Ambassador and attended by Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack. They also participated in the Fifth International Congress of Animal Production, including a roundtable session and a workshop on soil fertility.
